Route description
This walk is especially beautiful in spring and autumn, but it’s an enjoyable outing all year round – and it’s stroller-friendly, too!
Tip: This spot is perfect for a picnic. There are wide, open meadows and plenty for kids to explore. You’ll find picnic benches, a hedge maze (a bit bare in early spring, but still fun!), stone steps, and tree trunks to climb on – all within a safe, fenced-in area where children can roam freely.
You can park directly at the dog training school parking lot in Oberplanitzing. From there, it’s just a one-minute walk to the large meadow – you can’t miss it – and you’ll reach the picnic area in no time.
If you feel like stretching your legs a bit more, there’s a lovely 20-minute loop trail around the racecourse. The path takes you through a charming, natural deciduous forest and is easily doable with a stroller. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot horses training on the track.
Our kids love it here because they can run around and explore freely. And we parents love it too – relaxing on a picnic blanket, soaking up the sun, while the little ones play.
By the way, in autumn, this is the perfect place to fly kites!
