Route description

Calling all knights, noble ladies, squires & castle folk – Haderburg Castle awaits! Once a month, Haderburg Castle in Salorno transforms into a lively medieval world during its castle reenactment days. Try on helmets, swords, and armor, take part in a squire’s challenge, watch thrilling knightly combat, listen to stories, taste medieval dishes, and soak in breathtaking views – and more!

Admission prices vary, as each event is organized by different historical associations who set their own pricing. To find out when the next reenactment takes place, check the official website or follow Haderburg on Instagram.

Even outside of these events, Haderburg is a fantastic destination – a fascinating, off-the-beaten-path castle with scenic views, a grand knight’s hall, countless stairs, and much to explore. The castle is open daily from March to December, closed on Thursdays, and serves hot meals at lunchtime.

Directions: A forest road leads up to the castle – steep, but doable with a stroller. However, the final stretch and the paths inside the castle (many stairs!) are not stroller-accessible. You can either leave the stroller outside or carry it up. Twin strollers won’t fit due to narrow stairs.

Parking: You can park at the roundabout on Via Trento in Salorno. From there, it’s about a 30-minute walk to the castle.
