Route description
It’s best to park your car at the very last parking lot, so drive all the way up, as this is where most of the tobogganers and ski tourers park. Skiers will find the lower parking lots more convenient, as they are located right next to the slopes.
This toboggan run is perfect for families, as the hike takes just under an hour, and the path is separated from the toboggan run by a fence, so there’s no risk from tobogganers speeding down. The Dolomite panorama in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and the stunning views are also a big plus. The trail is always gently uphill, but never too steep. The last section takes you through a tunnel (great fun for the kids!) before you reach the Epircher-Laner Hut, where you can have lunch. Right next to it is a small playground – perfect for keeping the kids entertained and for a little break in the sun with a breathtaking view for the parents.
The descent, as is always the case with tobogganing, is far too short, and after 5-10 minutes, you’ll be back at the parking lot. Alternatively, you can buy a toboggan ticket and take the lift to enjoy the descent several times. For more details, check out the Obereggen ski resort’s website.
