Route description
On the Magic Trail in Caines, magic, adventure, action, and stunning views come together. With a total of 20 themed stations centered around the world of magic, children (and adults!) can dive into a fantastic realm full of interactive games and fun challenges. At the highest point of the trail, a giant magic wand awaits – and yes, you can actually wave it!
The trail begins at the Hochübl parking lot in Caines. From there, cross the road and you’ll spot the large wooden sign marked “Zauberweg” (Magic Trail). After about 10 minutes of walking, the path splits – this is where the circular trail begins. You can head either left or right and will end up back at this spot.
We recommend going right: enjoy the panoramic views and explore the magical stations one by one. At the top of the trail, the giant magic wand is waiting to be discovered. On the way back down, you’ll pass the witch’s house and several more stations before returning to the fork in the path. From there, it’s just a short walk back to your car along the same stretch.
The Magic Trail is accessible year-round, but it’s especially beautiful in spring and autumn. Summer can be very hot, and in winter the trail might be slippery.
Note: The trail is not suitable for strollers.
If you’re looking for a place to eat or take a break, we highly recommend the family-friendly Gasthof Ungericht. From the car park, it’s just a one-minute drive up the road. You’ll spot the inn on the right-hand side. There’s a large playground, a tractor museum, and animals – all with a fantastic view!
